FACT!
80% of Hoodia
Gordonii Sold Online Is A Scam!
"Read
Fact Find's Independent Report Before You Decide To
Purchase"
This report was actually
quite an eye opener. Usually it is a straightforward case of who
is being ripped off and by whom.
But as we delved deeper
it became a story rather than a report as it touches on the lives
of indigenous tribes and their very real battle in coping with
modern day life. That is another story but we shall just briefly mention
that Hoodia Gordonii could well be the salvation of the Kalahari
San bushmen.
Hoodia Gordonii is only
found in the wild in the hot and arid Kalahari desert in South
Africa. The San have been eating HG for thousands of years when
going on long hunting trips to reduce the cravings for food.
"Does It
Actually Work?"
The BBC, 60 Minutes,
South Africa's National Laboratory, Phytofarm, (a UK research
team), and the immense Pfizer pharmaceutical giant certainly
attest to the fact that it does.
Tom Mangold of the BBC
reports:
| "Imagine
this: an organic pill that kills the appetite and attacks
obesity. It has no known side-effects, and contains a
molecule that fools your brain into believing you are full"
"In
order to see for ourselves, we drove into the desert, four
hours north of Capetown in search of the cactus.
Once
there, we found an unattractive plant which sprouts about
10 tentacles, and is the size of a long cucumber. Each
tentacle is covered in spikes which need to be carefully
peeled. Inside is a slightly unpleasant-tasting, fleshy
plant.
At
about 1800hrs I ate about half a banana size - and later
so did my cameraman. Soon after, we began the four hour
drive back to Capetown. The plant is said to have a
feel-good almost aphrodisiac quality, and I have to say,
we felt good.
But
more significantly, we did not even think about food. Our
brains really were telling us we were full. It was a
magnificent deception. Dinner time came and went. We
reached our hotel at about midnight and went to bed
without food. And the next day, neither of us wanted nor
ate breakfast.
I
ate lunch but without appetite and very little pleasure.
Partial then full appetite returned slowly after 24 hours" |
So we have established
that Hoodia Gordonii works effectively but why are there so many
scams?
Apart from the obvious
that there are always crooks ready to cheat us, HG is a scarce
commodity. It is easy, even more so with the Internet, for people
to make up a pill or capsule from some benign, (hopefully),
ingredients and then produce a believable web sales page.
There are some painful
stories associated with buying fake HG mainly about losing money
but some people are so desperate to lose weight the scam causes
sever mental trauma as well.
So How Do You
Order With Confidence?
Be careful. In
choosing your HG product make sure it contains no Ephedra,
Ephedrine or Ma Huang. Check that it
is licensed by the Western Cape
Conservation Authority of South Africa. It is also essential to
check for 2 certified documents namely a CITES certificate and an
analytical report. These should be viewable on a reputable
site.
There will be other
suppliers if you wish to check but the following is
one site we chose above others because of the following factors.
- The 2 certificates are
available for viewing online.
- You can actually talk
to someone.
- They offer a refund
guarantee. (6 Months. This shows they are confident about
their product).
- You can order
internationally which shows it is not a bedroom operation run
by students.
- They are associated
with the "As Seen On TV" network.
- They prominently
display stories from 60 Minutes and other agencies on their
front page.
- Their ordering system
is either by phone or a secure GeoTrust certified payment
gateway.
- Their online weight
loss program, (which is a free bonus for customers), has been
running for 8 years so they are not newcomers.
